Case study: Use our UX design skills to transform Craigslist into a user-centric online marketplace.

We used design thinking process and scrum in this case.

So first we start with Empathize:

We started by doing an analysis of the website, and we started to list things we thought should be improved for an optimization of the user experience.

Then we started our ux- research by reading comments about Craigslist from among others reddit (target group analysis), and reading various reviews we could find.

We then formulated four user stories as a first hypothesis of what we found for possible improvements on Craigslist's front page, to make it more user-friendly.

To test whether this hypothesis is true, we then wanted to test it on users. We started by designing a questionnaire to collect data. What we got from the usability test was information about the users to then be able to create a persona. We also received useful information about pain points and frustrations that users experienced with the website.

With the help of the data from the survey, we then did a competitive analysis of the biggest competitors, where we also compiled the various pain points we came up with.

Define: We defined problem formulations based on the data from the usability test and made a persona.

Ideate: Here started our sprint in the scrum process, we used trello, And we put our user stories here based on our former research. And then divided them into tasks, then a brainstorming to reach the definition of done for each card. We put in descriptive text for DoD, put in links to different websites we used as inspiration, and sketched quick wireframes on paper that everyone had access to in order to then be able to work with each task as easily as possible.

The methods we used to help us come up with the ideas where: Brainstorm, wire-frames,

sketch, inspirations from other websites.

And then we started with simple wireframes in figma and on paper and then made a wireframe, then a mock up of the wireframes selected by implementing style guide

Tools for compiling our collected data: Persona (pain points and frustrations), created user stories for the product backlog based on the survey responses, we used trello to bring down the collected data we obtained in the design thinking process into the backlog. Paper and pen to make wireframes and take notes. We added a competitor analysis to the Figjam tool.
